The institution now recognized as Agribusiness Banking Corporation – A Rural Bank (ABC-RB) traces its legacy back to 1978, when it was originally established as the Rural Bank of Sta. Fe (N.V.) Inc. A major turning point occurred in 1988 when the current stockholders acquired the bank, ushering in a new era of modernized operations and innovative financial products.
By 1995, the bank rebranded as Agribusiness Rural Bank, Inc. (AGRIBANK) to better reflect its commitment to the agricultural sector and small-to-medium enterprises. This strategic focus fueled years of steady growth, most notably in 2009, when the bank’s expansion into Central Luzon and the Bicol Region allowed it to double its total resources from P1.40 billion to P2 billion.
In 2025, the bank underwent its most significant transformation by adopting the name Agribusiness Banking Corporation – A Rural Bank (ABC-RB) following a strategic consolidation. This rebranding reflects the bank’s evolution from a single entity into a unified corporate powerhouse, having merged with three other institutions under the Ropali Group of Companies: Rural Bank of San Jacinto Inc., Banco Alabang Inc., and Rural Bank of Maddela Inc. By unifying these resources, ABC-RB has strengthened its market position and streamlined operations to offer more competitive loan and savings solutions through an expanded network.
With more than four (4) decades of dedicated and committed service, ABC-RB expanded its operations beyond the province of Nueva Vizcaya to a wider market that now covers Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The bank currently operates forty-five (45) branches strategically located in progressive cities and municipalities of NCR, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Palawan, Bohol, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and South Cotabato.
At present, the Bank’s Head Office is located at Ropali Plaza Building in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. ABC-RB is one of the leading rural banks in the Philippines and is ranked 6th out of 382 rural banks, with a Total Resources of over P 8.5 billion as of June 2025; managed and operated by over 900 well-trained and dedicated bankers and professionals.
